Nopalitos and Lime Salad

Spice up any meal with this unique side dish that combines DOÑA MARÍA Nopalitos—also known as cactus pads—with savory tomatoes, creamy avocados, zesty limes and earthy cumin.


  • 1 (30-ounce) jar

    DOÑA MARÍA Nopalitos, drained and rinsed

  • 1.5 cups

    tomato wedges

  • 1

    avocado, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks

  • 1 cup

    avocado, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks

  • 1/4 cup

    vegetable oil

  • 6 tablespoons

    fresh lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon

    granulated sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon

    ground cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon


  • Fresh cilantro

  1. Combine nopalitos, tomato wedges, avocado and jicama in medium serving dish.

  2. In a separate dish, combine oil, lime juice, sugar, cumin and salt. 

  3. Pour over nopalitos mixture and mix well. 

  4. Garnish with fresh cilantro. 

  5. Chill and serve.
