Quinceañera

Derived from the words quince for 15 and años for years, la fiesta Quinceañera is a rite of passage for 15-year-old girls. Commemorating her journey into womanhood, it is like no other birthday celebration. It begins with a special mass for her and her family, and often continues with a party at their home where guests enjoy such favorites as Chicken Mole with Nopalitos.
