Carne Con Papas

Even on the busiest nights, this quick and easy family favorite easily comes together with just a few simple yet flavorful ingredients: thinly sliced beef, potatoes, onions and HERDEZ® Salsa Casera.



  • 2 teaspoons

    olive oil

  • 4 medium

    potatoes, diced into 1-inch squares

  • 1 medium

    onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon


  • 1 teaspoon

    black pepper

  • 1 pound

    thinly sliced beef sirloin tip steak

  • 1.5 cups

    HERDEZ® Salsa Casera (mild)

  1. Heat oil in large skillet. 

  2. Add potatoes and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes begin to soften. 

  3. Add onions, salt, pepper and sliced meat. 

  4. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. 

  5. Stir in HERDEZ® Salsa Casera and simmer for 2-3 minutes. 

  6. Serve hot.

  7. For additional color and flavor, add thin slices of red and yellow bell peppers.
