Pork Chops with HERDEZ® Salsa Verde over Rice

Continuing a Mexican family tradition by using HERDEZ® Salsa Verde, thinly cut pork chops and onions to create an authentically simple yet delicious dinnertime solution.



  • 4 tablespoons

    olive oil

  • 1 medium

    onion, thinly sliced

  • 4 bone-in

    pork chops, thinly sliced

  • 1 teaspoon

    garlic salt

  • 1 teaspoon


  • 1 (16-ounce) jar

    HERDEZ® Salsa Verde

  • 4 cups


  • 2 cups

    uncooked white rice

  1. In medium saucepan, bring 4 cups water to boil.  

  2. Add rice, stir with fork , cover and reduce heat to low.  

  3. Allow to simmer for about 20 minutes.

  4. Heat 4 tablespoons olive oil in large skillet; add onion slices across bottom of skillet. 

  5. Season pork chops with garlic salt and pepper and place over onions. 

  6. Cover and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. 

  7. Pour HERDEZ® Salsa Verde over pork chops and simmer for 5 additional minutes.  

  8. Serve over rice.
